r.i.p.
the fork
let's hope she finds a way back as a spork

one post

and yours
at the mere cost of a 13" MacBook Pro

But still I guess Anna Wintour had it right
who recommended you for Mango
Yes I watched the September Issue
But while very interesting,
I really liked the soundtrack more
same goes with Valentino: the Last Emperor
Fellini you genius!

avert your eyes

You wish to see this horrendous knock-off of the infamous YSL booties up close?
by all means
courtesy of bebe
oh why did they have to make it patchwork?

also on the bus
I saw a girl with these creations
I just don't get these shoes
and I hope, that she didn't pay full price for them

Simply, just because

In case you haven't heard about Revolve's new site
Forward by revolve,
now you have =)

As usual when I have no life and there's no t.v life
(there's only so many tv movies you can watch in a day)
I go online to browse

Somehow, from looking at platform sandals (marni patent wedges anywhere?)
I drifted into Brian Reyes section on Forward
Who is he?
Well he's young
he's up-and-coming
he's from Columbia
he interned at Oscar de la Renta (whose from the Dominican Republic, aahh Latin America)
and still his clothes cost beyond anywhere near my means
although cheaper when compared to de la Renta right right?

Anyways, his clothing are very polished and refined
and after looking at his Fall 2009, he's heavy on the shiny fabrics
while his Spring 2009 clothes on Forward are very airy and light.
Observe exhibit 1 that caught my eye

look at how happy those model legs are prancing in that skirt
note to self: must get legs like those, skirt like that, shoes like that
in other words, find a way to inhabit the model
what's that you say?
a close-up
but of course!

How pretty is that fabric?
and POCKETS
nothing makes me happier than a pleated skirt with POCKETS
and screw the fact that there's horizontal stripes
yes yes we know they apparently draw attention to width and blah blah
but this skirt is way pretty to care
If only it didn't cost $500

What else caught my wayward eye?
oh just this little simple thing
beautiful isn't it?
in the alternate dimension where I'm obscenely wealthy and I would have this dress in my hands,
I would wear this dress everywhere
to church ( I'm not religious really)
to the supermarket (might get a few stares, a FEW)
to the bowling alley (would look very nice with those shoes)
heck I might get married in it
but if I were obscenely wealthy,
I wouldn't wear it more than once

Gahhhhhhhh
I have no idea how to make these photos smaller
In case you can't see, this photo is from justjared
and yes that is Ashley Greene,
more famously known by teenieboppers everywhere as the actress playing Alice Cullen
in the Twilight movies.
More to the point, she's wearing a Brian Reyes dress, hence I included her.
(also for the fact I love a nice tangerine clutch with a white dress, very wise choice stylist for Ashley)
She looks pretty kickass in this outfit and I would also wear that dress everywhere
(wear it to bed! wear it to football games! It goes everywhere!)

and finally

Brian Reyes Fall 2009 RTW
I just found the intensity in the model's face very amusing
Why the death glare?
Can't you let the audience appreciate the delicate dress you're wearing without feeling your wrath?
Perhaps it's the awkward cleavage

just listen

YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GUESS WHAT THIS WILL BE ABOUT

shoes, of course!

spending my time
looking at shoes
that I can't afford
even if it's on sale
=(

aside from never ending up within my grasp,
these shoes also share the common trait of being asymmetrical or intricate cut-outs

perhaps I should spend more time finding myself a sugar daddy

*edit note
sorry for the puny pictures
barneys uses flash or something for their photos so you can't properly link

Purple and Gold

I, like the rest of the world,
watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
but unlike some,
I went at midnight.
That being said, I think this film was the best one to date
and even though they had to cut out a great deal of the book (obviously)
it kept most of the dialogue from the book
which made me very very happy

On a sidenote, the actress playing Lavender Brown was positively psychotic.
LOVED HER
and there was a girl dressed as Lav-Lav in the line-up which made my day as well.
I also saw a few of the premier outfits Emma Watson wore and how I wish I was her.
What's up with the face though? I could barely recognise Emma Watson and she looks much older than 18-19 years old here. Stop with the photoshopping.
She looked flawless at the premieres and on the screen.
And even though this particular outfit bugs me ( a little too sweet princessey with some granny undertones)
I'm fatally attracted to that purple, especially that satin purple.
I never understood why there wasn't a housecolour of purple and gold.
Too much royalty undertones?
It would be the ultimate house colours.
I guess Ravenclaw and Gryffindor have it the best.
Green and Silver aren't just very flattering together
and Hufflepuff has it the worst.
Firstly the name, and secondly, how to dress in yellow and black without resembling
a) a bumblebee
b) a banana
c) Charlie Brown

Anyways, if I had a uniform of dark robes, I would definitely have the craziest accessories.
And, in my imaginary house where it is purple and gold
I would prance about in the halls carrying this

Botkier Sasha Large Duffle in Deep Purple (hardly deep at all, it's similar to the Laurentian pencil crayon I used to use in elementary school) $695, on sale for $451.75 here

and distract everyone with these
Botkier Kyra Pump in Gold Crackle (magical indeed)
$425, on sale for $96 here

For that price, I have half the mind to get out my imaginary credit card and get it.
Plus they ship to Canada without duties.
I might have to add some gold sequins onto it to make it even more sparkly.
How 80s would that be?

And the shoe lust of the day
C'N'C Costume National Red/Grey Suede with Black Leather Pump
$545, on sale for $132 here

KlubKats

My favourite all-time collections from every fashion line was
Fall/Winter 2007
Everything about that season was decadent but wearable in every way possible
I like to look at the collections again and again because there's so much
detail and inspiration.
Despite the fact it's old news for today, I wouldn't mind wearing anything from that season
Note: it was when Oliver Theyskiens started designing at Nina Ricci
Drool worthy evening gowns ensued.

Today, I was looking at Emanuel Ungaro's F/W 2007
It was Peter Dundas last collection at Ungaro before Esteban took over
The clothes were opulent, glitzy with an obvious nightclub reference
and some days, you really need to party it like it's 1929, the 2009 version.

Leather with the unexpected addition of the plastic clasp-belt.
Reminds me of a lifejacket, only this one wouldn't protect me from drowning
but would come in handy in a back alley

Look at how the coat curves out

These pants are crazy
I love a military influence and if I could handle white pants, these are the ones I want
The padded knees adds bulk to the midpoint of the leg but interesting texture
And plus, you don't need to buy kneepads I suppose?

If I needed a party dress and had the legs...

This dress's back cut is amazing
I wish there was a picture style.com had to show it
In fact, a lot of the beauty in these dresses was in the back

LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEEEee
Must procure this dress in some way.
What is there NOT to love.

And finally,
Which do YOU prefer

One millimeter short of a birds eye view of the female form
and an angry feline Sasha P (who could use a bit of sun, or perhaps a pizza and a nap)
in Emanuel Ungaro

vs

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson being Miley Cyrus in Max Azria

No contest right?

pictures from style.com (of course)

Another [Un]Necessary Object

I personally despise short posts featuring lustful objects
but that's highly hypocritical as this blog is devoted to such things
and plus it's easy
But must it always be about shoes?
Yes, yes, always

In case you could never afford the $1000 needed for YSL Tribute pumps...
...they're only $348 from $695 here

Recession is REALLY hurting the economy
Shoes such as these actually seem feasible and a deal ... I think

Spiders deserve to die

I just smacked a spider with my computer.
I hate spiders.
They have too many legs and they deserve to die.
This one better not have left a sac of offspring

But while we're at it,
if I were in the mood to garner some stares on the street
and potentially wreak havoc on the public for
I would wear
Raging animal call dress from Christopher Kane
(methinks it's angry for not having dental benefits)
COUNT THE TOES AND OMG LOOK AT THE NAILS shoe from Alexander McQueen

Funnily enough, both images were found on the Fashion Police site.
Well spotted BUT
In my opinion, the dress works if carried out properly
Julia Roitfield was seen wearing it
by paring a simple fitted black blazer and black opaque tights.
Conservative mixed with the unexpected and adding a touch of trend
perfection

The shoes on the otherhand....
run children run

I would think that you need to be spending a little time in a padded room
if you PAY
for shoes that look like a synthetic-shiny-disturbing-with-STICHES high-heeled version of things you already have.
You can't possibly be that embarrassed about your feet to want to cover them with a plasticized version complete with built-in heels would you?

My vice

Pierre Hardy
is my shoe god

I don't even want to know the price because I might cry.

Thank God for Pour La Victoire
"affordable" shoes without compromising any bit of shoe lust

Pour La Victoire "Blanche" $182 at Zappos

If I were an equestrian . . .

. . . I would only wear Hermès

In my simple opinion,
this brand is the epitome of luxury
and everything it means to be obscenely wealhy.

In the infamous bags known by their first name,
the luxurious materials they use,
the waiting list,
The lack of advertisements of their bags
It all adds up to only one brand.
Hermès
But enough of me gushing
and I'm sure you too are among the thousands who wish they could own one of the bags
let's look at the photos

The ultimate Birk
Rare saltwater crocodile
Palladium hardware on the bag
encrusted with fourteen carats
of pavé diamonds
Costs more than my firstborn child and my left kidney
*Palladium by the way does not tarnish unlike silver so it will remain shiny for years to come.
(thank you wiki)

Ahh the Birkin
named after none other than the gorgeous creature Jane Birkin

Let's not forget the other darling hanging on your other arm

The Kelly
I adore a Kelly in blue
A beauty and no animal got skinned in the process

Blue Jean, though is a gorgeous colour

And the obsession runs deep
take a look at these
Some of us like to start out young with good taste

But enough with pictures
Let's get technological and watch a video.
Fashion File went to Paris to interview the artisans who spend weeks constructing the bag you wait your life for

As for me?

I would probably be willing to live without electricity for 6 months to own
a Lindy bag

Slightly less expensive (hah)
and I completely swayed by the straps

Naomi knows how to carry it and nothing beats a Hermès bag in its signature burnt orange colour

I would inhabit Victoria Beckham just to get at her collection of Hermès bags
(compliments of Bagsnob.com whose ladies have an extensive obsession with the bags too but they actually own several)

Unfortunately the closest time I ever got to touching a Hermès bag
was when I was 7.
My best friend's mom used to be a salesperson there
and we wandered in to say hi.
I had no idea what Hermès was at that time but oh dear god I knew the things I saw were niceeee
